These French Dip Sliders are little bites of heaven—soft, buttery rolls packed with juicy roast beef, melty cheese, and a rich, savory au jus for dipping.

They’re crazy easy to make and perfect for busy weeknights, game days, or casual get-togethers. Trust me, once you try these, you’ll never go back to boring sandwiches again!

What You’ll Need

Sliders:

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (left as a whole sheet)
  • 1 lb deli-sliced roast beef
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Au Jus (Dipping Sauce):

  • 1 packet au jus mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Pro Tips

Don’t separate the rolls before baking – Keeping them together makes assembly easier and ensures that every bite is extra cheesy.
Toast the bottom layer first – A quick pre-toast (5 minutes in the oven) keeps the rolls from getting soggy with the meat and butter sauce.
Use good quality roast beef – Thinly sliced deli roast beef (freshly sliced) works best. Pre-packaged versions can be drier.
Double up on cheese for extra melty goodness – One slice per slider is great, but layering cheese under and over the meat makes them even better!
Make it a meal – Serve with a simple side salad or crispy fries for a full dinner.

Tools You’ll Need

  • 9×13 baking dish
  • Serrated knife
  • Small saucepan
  • Pastry brush
  • Measuring cups & spoons

Substitutions & Variations

  • Cheese Swap – Try Swiss, mozzarella, or even pepper jack for a little kick.
  • Gluten-Free – Use gluten-free rolls and check that your au jus mix is gluten-free.
  • Spicy Version – Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a spread of horseradish before baking.
  • Garlic Butter Upgrade – Add fresh minced garlic to the melted butter for extra flavor.

Make-Ahead Tips

  • Assemble the sliders ahead – Put everything together in the baking dish, cover with foil, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Just bake when ready!
  • Au jus can be prepped early – Make the dipping sauce, store it in the fridge, and reheat before serving.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter and mix in Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried minced onion. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.

4. Bake

Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.

5. Make the Au Jus

While the sliders bake, whisk together the au jus mix, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until hot.
